Five Silver Medals from The Real Review

We're thrilled to celebrate receiving five Silver Medals for our latest vintage wines from The Real Review.

2021 First Duke Reserve Shiraz

Reviewer: Aaron Brasher

Youthful in the glass. Pretty and fragrant aromas of blueberry, bramble, spice, sarsaparilla, cola and cherry. Medium-bodied, layered and mouth-filling. Lashings of blue fruits, sweet spice, underbrush and wild blackberry. The tannins have lovely texture and the acidity has real life and punch.

Rating: 91/100, Silver Medal

Drink: 2024–2034

2022 Méthode Traditionnelle Sparkling

Reviewer: Huon Hooke

Pale colour with a good mousse of very fine bubbles and a fresh youthful aroma of almond icing and iced pastries. The wine has good intensity of flavour and is clean and refreshing on the tongue, with a trace of sweetness but finishing crisply dry and appetising. A youthful sparkler with a great deal of appeal.

Rating: 92/100, Silver Medal

Drink:2024–2029

2023 Black Spur Gewürztraminer

Reviewer: Stuart Knox

Pale lemon with tint of lime at the core. Fragrant lift of lychee and rose petals as expected of this varietal. Palate is medium weighted, ripe stone and lychee fruits at the core but a segue of exotic spices ensures it keeps character and there’s enough framework of acidity to ensure it doesn’t get bogged down. Good length and finishes with freshness that will keep you returning for more.

Rating: 91/100, Silver Medal

Drink: 2024–2028

2023 Black Spur Chardonnay

Reviewer: Aaron Brasher

Aromas of nuts, grapefruit, green melon and a nettly, green lift. Generously flavoured, with plenty of peach, nectarine and nutty oak. There's a gentle creaminess to the palate and the finish has real persistence.

Rating: 91/100, Silver Medal

Drink: 2024–2029

2022 Black Cameron Shiraz

Reviewer: Huon Hooke

Medium-deep colour; the bouquet is quite reductive at first, meaty and then the sweet spices and berry flavours chime in, which consolidate on the palate. Sweet-fruit middle palate then a big and slightly firm finish and aftertaste. Very attractive shiraz.
