Cherry – Plum – Spice
Our first release of Black Cameron Shiraz under new winemaker Rob Hall. Rob’s winemaking philosophies include minimal intervention and oak contact which therefore highlights the quality of our estate-grown fruit and true representation of our vineyard site and the season.
This wine is similar style to a Syrah, bright ruby red in colour, showing flavours of cherry, plum and spice with elegant mouthfeel and subtle tannins.
A cooler vintage in 2020, the fruit for this wine was hand-picked and co-fermented with 2% Viognier in open pots for 20 days. Matured for 9 months in a selection of new (25%) and seasoned French oak. Oak was carefully selected that highlights the inherent fruit flavours, adds to the spice and lengthens the palate.
