Everything You Need to Know About Rosé

There's something undeniably joyful about a glass of rosé — the luminous blush colour, and the way it effortlessly bridges the gap between red and white. At Boat O'Craigo we've long believed rosé is more than a summer fling, and our 2024 Black Spur Rosé is proof that pink can be both playful and sophisticated.

What is Rosé, Really?

Rosé is crafted from red grape varieties, given only a brief embrace between the juice and grape skins to capture colour and a whisper of flavour, before being pressed off to ferment like a white. The result is fresh, bright and aromatic, without the weight or tannin of a red. Ours sits firmly in the crisp, dry and elegant camp.

What Does Our 2024 Black Spur Rosé Taste Like?

Wild strawberry, rose petal and pink grapefruit, layered with a gentle creaminess from time spent resting on lees. The palate is all about balance — lively acidity, a touch of savoury texture, and a long, dry finish.

When to Drink It

Pair it with charcuterie, fresh seafood, spicy Asian dishes or a classic niçoise salad — equally at home at a long lunch under the vines or by the fire with a grazing board.

Come taste it at our Healesville cellar door, or shop the 2024 Black Spur Rosé online.
