Our New Vintage Release: 2023 Grüner Veltliner

Austria's most planted variety, Grüner Veltliner, is slowly growing a healthy fan base in Australia, with the importation of clones from Austria by Adelaide Hills' Hahndorf Hill Winery in 2006–2009 kicking off its popularity.

Not familiar? Grüner Veltliner is a popular white grape variety, renowned for its crisp, refreshing characteristics. Versatile and capable of producing a range of wine styles, from light and zesty to complex and full-bodied.

Grüner Veltliner typically features flavours of green apple, white pepper and citrus, and is known for mineral notes and high linear acidity that echoes Riesling. Grüner's versatility makes it a fantastic match for seafood, salads, Asian cuisine, and spicy foods.

Boat O'Craigo is currently the only vineyard in the Yarra Valley growing Grüner Veltliner, and we are excited to release our new 2023 vintage, now available online and for tasting at the cellar door.
