2023 Black Cameron Shiraz

Our picturesque vineyard at Kangaroo Ground is one of the highest sites in the Yarra Valley. A now extinct volcano, this vineyard has rare black basalt soils and plenty of sunshine making it a unique site for ripening Shiraz which thrives in warmer conditions.The fruit for this wine was hand-picked from our Kangaroo Ground vineyard. The fruit was then fermented on skins in open pots and plunged daily for 30 days. The wine was then pressed and matured in new (20%) and seasoned French oak for 10 months. The result is a complex wine, deep mulberry in colour, showing flavours of blackberry, cherry, plum, star anise, tapenade and cacao with subtle tannins.
