2024 Black Spur Gruner Veltliner

Gruner Veltliner (grew-ner felt-lee-ner) is most widely grown in Austria, and is similar profile to Riesling on the nose and palate, but with much more texture.Our estate grown Gruner Veltliner comes from our Healesville vineyard at the foot of the Black Spur range. Bordered by the Grace Burn Creek, this site's alluvial river soil and cool climate consistently produces outstanding aromatic fruit characters.This racy single vineyard wine has a bouquet of citrus, green apple and spice, with beautiful characters of grapefruit and fleshy stone fruit, and moreish texture and a clean fresh finish.Hand-picked, destemmed, with some skin contact prior to pressing. Fermented on light solids at 20 degrees to retain and accentuate aromatics. Matured on lees for four months and bottled early to capture freshness.
