Our picturesque vineyard at Kangaroo Ground is one of the highest sites in the Yarra Valley. A now extinct volcano, this vineyard has rare black basalt soils and plenty of sunshine making it a unique site for producing classic cool climate Cabernet.The fruit for this wine is a blend of three distinct blocks. The fruit was hand-picked, whole berry fermented and plunged twice daily in open pots for 25 days. The wine was then pressed and matured in 25% new and seasoned French oak barrels. The result is a beautiful medium-bodied wine with deep red colour, showing flavours of blackberry, cherry, tobacco, cedar and spice with structured tannins.
