2024 Rob Roy Pinot Noir

We are thrilled to welcome our first vintage of Roy Roy Pinot Noir, from our Kangaroo Ground vineyard, in almost 15 years.Our picturesque vineyard at Kangaroo Ground is one of the highest sites in the Yarra Valley. A now extinct volcano, this vineyard has rare black basalt soils and plenty of sunshine making it a unique site for Pinot Noir..A blend of three Pinot Noir clones, MV6, Pommard and G5, the fruit for this wine was wild yeast fermented in small open fermenters, with some ferments using 100% wholebunch. The juice was then hand-plunged for an average 14 day ferment, before being transferred to a mix of one year old (30%) and seasoned quality French hogsheads and puncheons.Deep cherry in colour with a palate of fresh red cherries, cooked strawberry, lavender and savoury spice, the wine has a generous weight and a long silky finish
