2024 Black Spur Chardonnay

The 2024 Black Spur Chardonnay shines a brilliant medium straw in the glass, offering an enticing bouquet of lemon curd, ripe stone fruit, almond, honeysuckle and a hint of buttery popcorn. On the palate, it’s vibrant and textural with fresh citrus and mineral drive, layered with delicate oak and almond tones that flow into a long, refined finish.Hand-picked from four distinct clones grown at our cool Healesville site, the fruit was whole-bunch pressed, cold-settled and racked to French oak hogsheads and puncheons, with 15% new oak. Spontaneous fermentation was followed by partial malolactic fermentation in half of the wine, before 10 months of maturation on lees built elegance, depth and texture.The result is a beautifully balanced, cool-climate chardonnay that captures the purity and finesse of the Yarra Valley.
